The Basics
Color Accuracy
Please note that not all device screen colors are the same and may vary slightly. The colors you see on your screen may vary from the actual printed wallpaper, which is why we recommend ordering a sample on the material you wish to use for your project.
Can I buy samples?
Yes! We highly recommend purchasing samples in the material you plan on using for your project.
NEW! All of our samples are printed at the ACTUAL FULL SCALE and come in a large 14” x 9” size. We have found this is the best solution to show customers how the design will look on your wall. Samples may not be returned as they are custom-printed in the pattern you select.
We have samples in all of our materials—Fabric Peel & Stick, Smooth Peel & Stick, Water Activated, Unpasted, and High Tack Peel & Stick. Colors will print slightly differently on each material, which is why it is always best to double check with a sample!
How removable is removable?
All wallpaper materials we offer have the ability to be removed from the walls in full panels with the exception of the Unpasted, which is applied with paste and should be installed professionally. Our removable wallpapers are a great progression from the older wallpapers that tear into pieces as they are removed! There are many clear reasons why removable, peel-and-stick wallpaper is so incredibly popular.
To successfully remove our wallpaper from your walls without damaging the paint, it depends on more than the wallpaper itself. How the wall has been prepped before, the quality of the primer and paint used on the wall before painting, and the texture are some factors. The quality and composition of the paint and primer as well as climate conditions of the room are also very important in the removal of the wallpaper.
Please see the following question "Will your wallpaper work on my wall or surface?" for details!
NOTE: All adhesives have the potential to become somewhat permanent at some point in time due to varying factors including the climate as well as air moisture or dryness of the room. A successful removal may also depend on how long the wallpaper has been on your walls.
Is your wallpaper water resistant and washable?
Yes! You can gently wipe with a damp, non-abrasive cloth and warm water. Do not use cleaners or rub too hard, or the ink may lift off or smudge.
How do I know how much to order?
We've put together a handy Ordering Guide for you! Click here or read below. If you’re still unsure, please email hello@mywallimages.com for help calculating.
Will your wallpaper work on my wall or surface?
Our wallpaper will stick to a variety of surfaces without damaging the surface underneath. The most important factor to determine is if your walls are smooth. We recommend they have an eggshell, satin or semi-gloss paint.
OTHER SURFACE POSSIBILITIES: Any smooth, flat, clean surface should do just fine. For example, smoothly painted walls, finished wood, cabinet doors without texture, sliding wardrobe doors. We do NOT recommend using our wallpaper on flooring.
DO YOUR WALLS HAVE TEXTURES? No worries! We offer a special material called High Tack Peel & Stick that is designed for textured surfaces. If you're unsure if your wall is smooth, email a picture to hello@mywallimages.com for help!
APPLYING FRESH PAINT? Paint can take 4-6 weeks to cure, so we recommend waiting until fresh paint is fully cured to apply wallpaper (otherwise bubbling or peeling may occur).
ARE YOUR WALLS PRIMED? If you just have drywall up, your walls should at least have primer (though primer + paint is ideal). We do not recommend applying wallpaper directly onto drywall.
WILL IT WORK ON TOP OF OLD WALLPAPER? We recommend that you purchase a sample to test this out. Wallpapers vary in texture, age, and quality. We cannot guarantee that it works on top of other wallpapers, but we HAVE had customers use it this way and work well.
How do I decide which material to get?
We have five materials to choose from. All of them are printed in the USA with eco-friendly, GreenGuard Gold Certified ink. View the comparison of main differences between all of our wallpaper materials below:

Product Information
How long will the wallpaper last?
If put up with a little TLC, My Wall Images wallpaper can last for years in an average environment. You can gently wipe down your wall with warm water and a clean rag before installation. Do NOT use cleaners as that may affect how the wallpaper adheres to your wall. Ensure your wall is completely dry before installing your new wallpaper. Please see "Will your wallpaper work on my wall?" for more details.
What kind of ink do you use?
Our ink has zero fumes and immediate curing/dry time, so there’s no smudging or discoloration. We print with inks that have been certified "GREENGUARD Gold". All of wallpapers are printed in our facility in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.
This certification includes health-based criteria for additional chemicals and also requires lower total VOC emissions levels to ensure that products are acceptable for use in environments such as schools and healthcare facilities. In addition to limiting emissions of more than 360 VOCs and total chemical emissions, UL GREENGUARD Gold Certified products must also comply with requirements of the state of California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Standard Method for the Testing and Evaluation of Volatile Organic Chemical Emissions from Indoor Sources Using Environmental Chambers, also known as California Section 01350. All certified products are subject to a review of the manufacturing process and routine testing to minimal impact on the indoor environment.
Are your materials safe for my home?
YES! Our wallpaper is safe for your home, your children, and it's wipeable! All of our wallpapers are printed in the USA with eco-friendly, GreenGuard Gold Certified ink. All of our wallpapers are PVC-free with the exception of our Smooth Peel+Stick Vinyl.
Do you sell your wallpaper in panels or rolls?
All of our wallpaper is sold in panels. As it is printed, it is rolled onto a tube for packaging and shipping. Our panels come in standard lengths. Each panel allows for a small overlap* to prevent the seam from separating. The overlap allowance is on top of the 25 inch measurement, so each panel is actually a little bit wider than 25 inches.
25” wide x 96” high (~ 2 x 8 feet)
25” wide x 108” high (~ 2 x 9 feet)
25" wide x 120" high (~ 2 x 10 feet)
*Our High Tack wallpaper is the only material that does not allow for overlap.
Looking for a different length? Contact us for a custom quote.
Can I reuse the peel-and-stick wallpaper?
We do not advertise our peel-and-stick wallpaper as being reusable. Customers have been able to remove their wallpaper and--if removed slowly and gently rolled up on the original backing paper--it could potentially be re-used, but that is up to you and depends on many factors including how clean the original wall was before applying wallpaper, where you intend to re-use it, etc.
Ordering
Do I need to order all the paper at once? Will there be color variance between orders?
We recommend that you order as much paper as you need at one time. Due to minor variances in material and ink, the color may be slightly different between samples and the final printed panels, or if additional printed panels are required. But, please keep in mind we always do our best to match the colors between orders as closely as possible, if you do need additional panels!
Every product is printed on-demand for your order, so it is possible that shades may vary between different material batches, including wallpaper samples and full orders. While we very much strive to keep things consistent, we cannot guarantee an exact color match unless all of your wallpaper is printed at the same time.
We recommend padding your order by 15%, measuring twice, and once the wallpaper is received measure again before you start installing! Once the paper is on your wall, there isn’t much we can do.
What if I want custom colors? Changed to grayscale or black and white?
Yes, every order is customizable. Our team of talented designers and photo retouchers can do simple adjustments to the pattern such as enlarging, making it grayscale, black and white, or adjusting a color for you.

Installation
I’m nervous about installation, can I do it myself or should I hire someone?
Our peel-and-stick wallpaper is made for DIY installation. While, we cannot speak to each person's comfort level, if you follow our installation guidelines, you should have no trouble. Like all DIY projects, it's always better to have someone to help you and leave some extra wiggle room for time frame. Visit our “How-To" page for a helpful installation info!
How can I ensure all of the panels line up? I don’t want to see the seams!
We include about 3/4” overlap on the right side of the panels on all of the materials except the High-Tack material. The overlap aids in aligning the design during installation by allowing you to match up the design prints. As long as each panel is orientated the same way, they will line up with one another! Panels should be installed from left to right. As for the seams, as long as the paper is installed with care, the seams shouldn’t be visible unless you are really looking up close.
Where can I put it?
Can peel + stick wallpaper work in bathrooms? If things get steamy?
Yes! Our wallpaper can withstand the high moisture in bathrooms and other high moisture rooms. When installing the wallpaper, make sure that the wall is completely dry of any moisture and dust and follow our installation guidelines HERE [link]. However, we advise to use it for decorative purposes and avoid areas where it would be in direct contact with water (shower wall, bathtub wall, backsplash area). Our wallpaper materials are gently cleanable with a damp cloth or soft sponge. Wallpaper does best if there is some ventilation, if in a high moisture room, so all you have to do is crack a window or turn on the fan and you should be just fine :)
Can peel + stick wallpaper work outdoors?
Our wallpaper can be placed outside on a short term basis and the durability of it outside is directly affected by the type of climate you live in, the humidity or dryness, and the surface texture it is applied to. We recommend you purchasing samples to test it out, if needed. It is not recommended for any extensive period of time due to the varying conditions that can affect the adhesive and inks.
Can peel + stick wallpaper work in commercial spaces?
Yes, our Unpasted Wallpaper is used frequently and successfully with our commercial clients. We also offer a Type II wallpaper that is anti-microbial and perfect for public spaces. If you are interested in this type, please email us at hello@mywallimages.com
What types of surfaces are NOT good for it?
Here are some surfaces that are not ideal for wallpaper:
- unpainted drywall
- raw and unstained wood
- unpainted concrete
- bricks
Other Considerations:
- Sheetrock has to be primed or painted before the installation of the wallpaper panels.
- The best paints suitable for peel-and-stick wallpaper installations are oil or water-based paints with matte, gloss, or semi-gloss/egg-shell finish.
- If you have low or zero VOC paint, please see below for some simple recommendations.
What to do if your paint has low or zero VOC?
- Before installation, you'll want to wipe the wall surface three times with isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol). The easiest way to do this is to fill a small spray bottle with rubbing alcohol--spray and wipe with cloth.
- Allow the wall to dry completely before installing.
- This procedure is always recommended if you don’t know what type of paint your wall has.
Can peel + stick wallpaper work on ceilings?
YES! We have had many customers use our peel + stick wallpaper on ceilings and it looks fantastic!
Will the wall murals hurt my walls or paint? Even if it's up for years?
Our peel and stick wallpaper will not damage your walls. We are proud to say our Fabric Peel-and-Stick and High Tack Peel-and-Stick especially can last at least 10 years or more and still be able to be peeled off with ease without hurting the wall or paint.
If installed following our recommendations, My Wall Images wallpaper can last for years in an average environment. You can gently wipe down your wall with warm water and a clean rag before installation. Do NOT use cleaners as that may affect how the wallpaper adheres to your wall. Ensure your wall is completely dry before installing your new wallpaper. Please see "Will your wallpaper work on my wall?" question above for more details.
